SPL Audit wishes to inform its clients and associates about some important updates to the payroll function effective from 2025 onwards, following a circular issued by the Cyprus Authorities. These changes will impact the filing requirements and associated fees for payroll services.
Submission of Employer Withholding Tax and Contributions Declaration
On 13 January 2025, the Tax Department issued a circular introducing changes to the monthly filing of payroll-related information. These changes are expected to increase the work and time required for payroll filings, which will, in turn, affect the fees charged for payroll services.
Key points from the circular:
- The Employer Withholding Tax and Contributions Declaration (Form TF7) and the payment of taxes and contributions will be carried out exclusively through the TAX FOR ALL (TFA) system.
- Starting in 2025, monthly TF7 Declarations will be mandatory.
- ALL monthly declarations for 2025, including those for which payments were made via the Tax Portal, must be submitted starting from January.
- The submission of the monthly TF7 Declaration will require the Tax Identification Number (TIN) for each employee.
Ergani Submission Details
The Labor Minister has recently issued a circular mandating that employers submit the essential terms of employment for all employees. (Check relevant article here. ) These details must be submitted via the Ergani portal no later than 28 February 2025.
To ensure compliance with this new requirement, we will conduct a full review of the company’s details submitted to the Ergani portal for both the employer and employees. This review will ensure that all terms are properly completed and updated in accordance with the new decree.
